One thing I know to be true about educators is that they are unsung heroes who often go underrecognized for all they do to help kids become their very best selves. They give of themselves tirelessly because that is just who they are. So, when challenging behaviors come up, the kind that leave us feeling like we have tried everything but still cannot find a response that works, we may feel defeated and lose sight of the child and our ability to reach them. When that happens, it is important to anchor back down into a couple truths about ourselves and the children we are teaching. Managing our mindset is one of the most important strategies we can use to support children with challenging behaviors.
