Issues around social justice and racial equity are the focus of conversations in many countries around the world. The nature of the dialogue, and the issues themselves differ based on context and participants; at their heart is the right of all people to live their potential and to explore their possibilities. Each person has the right to a life of safety, joy, and love. We talk about this in WoFo Global Café—a safe place to engage in challenging and sometimes uncomfortable conversations. Authenticity, vulnerability, and focused listening are valued, and when we hear stories and insights outside our thinking bubbles and life experiences, we are provoked to learn and grow. It’s a profound opportunity based on a deep generosity of spirit and determined hopefulness.

Duane Dennis, Jackie Bennett and Petr Torak led a recent conversation that began with these questions: What are the global issues around race? How can we support anti-racism, anti-bias, and empathetic activism in ourselves and in children? How can we use what we learn from our own experiences and the stories of others to strengthen us to be part of building a better, more equitable and just world?
