About María Eugenia Alvarez Noboa
María Eugenia Alvarez Noboa (ella/she) is a biliterate content specialist (Spanish and English) for Cultivate Learning at the University of Washington. She was born and raised on the beautiful island of the Dominican Republic, surrounded by its rich culture, natural resources, and beautiful people. She obtained her bachelor’s in early childhood education from Universidad Iberoamericana before moving to New York City in 2006 to complete a double master’s in early childhood and early childhood special education from New York University. Noboa has 20 years of experience in multilingual early and primary education environments. In those 20 years, she experienced a variety of roles, such as, multilingual educator, special educator, curriculum developer, instructional coach, and mentor. Throughout her professional journey, she has and will always continue to share her passion for multilingualism, and work toward language liberation across early learning environments and beyond. She hopes to inspire others in the profession to join the work in eliminating systemic language oppression, and to fully include, empower, and uplift multilingual students.
