Building a relationship with each child means seeing them individually and spending time to observe and participate in small moments every day, over time. Learning their preferences and cues, attending to them closely and with care, a teacher becomes an expert in relating to children. Reflective practice is a way to hold on to a little bit of what happens each day, and use the information to support an intentional response.
