What does the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study have in common with packaging that you would usually discard? Would you believe me if I said that it was achievement in literacy?

At Singakwenza Early Childhood Education (singakwenza.co.za) a non-profit based in South Africa, we have tried to create as many resources as possible from waste packaging to use in the preschools and day cares where we work, and I will share a few ideas that we use to focus on developing emergent literacy skills.
