Parent University was Dieng’s brainchild. The program launched in 2015 for refugee and new American families initially, and has become a program for any family that attends the school district; they could come from Monday to Friday and be a part of this blossoming community. Parent University selects an annual topic and runs two sessions for families. The topics have been based around early childhood education, which allowed families to learn about brain science and child development. In 2019-20, Parent University focused on mental health and individual special needs.
