About Katy Carrese Merrell

Katy Carrese Merrell, M.Ed., has been involved in the field of early childhood education for over 30 years. During that time, she has had the opportunity to be a preschool teacher, music specialist and storyteller, consultant, parenting/education columnist, and an early childhood director. Her 16 years leading schools in the Boston area included a private (community based) preschool and one connected to a public school district. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from Boston College and a master’s of education degree from Lesley University. She is grounded and inspired by having grown up in a family of 10 (eight children), being the proud mother of three grown children, and the grandmother of four precious girls.
