Equity for Action Survey: Families
As the adults who care for and educate young children, we must invest our efforts in creating systems that center our humanity and bring us together to strengthen one another and ensure that children thrive.
– Judy Jablon and Nichole Parks, Leading for Children
Launched in February, The CAYL Institute and Exchange Press are collaborating to uplift your voices and define the narrative of early care and education through a simple survey project, Strategies for Equity in Action.
Early care and education professionals have always been on the leading edge of research and practice in education, and 2024 is no different. As we navigate the complex challenges in our work today, we have a unique opportunity to reinforce our shared values in educating and caring for children, and resist forces that seek to diminish our progress for and with young children and the adults who care for them.
Each month between now and July 2024, we’re asking questions about issues that matter to you, asking you to share your lived experiences and strategies for courageous and collaborative action. We will collect and compile these responses anonymously to share as a resource, with actionable steps. Together, we can define the narrative of early care and education and ensure that young children and early care and education issues are at the center for leaders in all sectors.
Please take a few moments to complete this month’s survey, focused on equity for families.
