More Tools for Advocating for Play

If we want our kids to have happy, productive, moral lives, we must allow more time for play, not less.
– Peter Gray

Good news. The recording from the very popular Engaging Exchange online conference, “Protecting Play,” is now available for everyone. With over 30 amazing presenters, you’ll find inspiration, food-for-thought and tools to help you hold advocacy conversations with families, administrators, college students and elected officials on supporting a child’s right to play.

Another great opportunity is a chance to attend the WoFo Global Café conversation on Wednesday, January 21 at 11 AM New York EDT. Focusing on protecting play worldwide, it will offer strategies for advocating for play in multiple ways. Facilitated by moderator Heather Bernt-Santy, presenters include Jodie Riek, Priyanka Handa-Ram, Mike Browne and Stephanie Goloway. Come lend your voice to this important effort.

And one more helpful tool is Heather Bernt-Santy’s valuable new book, Using Schema Play Theory to Advocate for Free Play in Early Childhood. Through real-world scenarios that illustrate schema play theory, this popular book helps practitioners observe, support, and communicate the value of play in fostering holistic growth.
