Nature for Children Week, April 27-May 3, 2026
The best education does not happen at a desk, but rather engaged in everyday living – hands on, exploring, in active relationship with life.
– Vince Gowman
Nature for Children Every Day is a new initiative coordinated by Dimensions Educational Research Foundation’s Nature Explore program. Exchange is proud to be a partner in this effort! The goal is for people and organizations to come together to inspire and empower communities with the tools to help young children build meaningful, lasting connections with the natural world.
As a community of early childhood professionals and advocates we can help to:
- Increase awareness of how nature benefits young children and strengthens communities
- Connect programs, communities, and families with free, high-quality nature-based resources
- Celebrate and share the stories of early childhood nature champions to inspire others
- Equip partners and advocates with tools for outreach and engagement
- Promote action to create and sustain thoughtfully-designed nature-rich outdoor learning environments for young children
We invite you to learn more and discover ways to take action! Please join us in celebrating Nature for Children Week April 27 – May 3 to officially launch this initiative and help to increase awareness. Be sure to use the engagement toolkit!
