Maria José A. Dias has 15 years of experience in teaching english as an additional language in Brazil to different age groups in public schools and language centers. In 2019, she earned a master’s degree in secondary education with a concentration in english as a second language from East Tennessee State University. She is a doctoral fellow in the early childhood program at the same university with a research interest in bilingualism, biliteracy, translanguaging, and critical literacy.
