The Exchange Reflections, uses the article “Filling in the Gaps Empowering Parents’ Understanding of Play to Support School Readiness” by Alissa Mwenelupembe to explore how we can help communicate to parents the concept of play in the classroom and more fully what playful learning looks like. More programs may be willing to embrace this philosophy if parents are knowledgeable and encourage its inclusion in the early childhood curriculum, especially because play supports brain development in young children.
