About Dan Gartrell

Dan Gartrell is a former Head Start teacher for the Red Lake Ojibwe in Minnesota. Gartrell received his Ed.D. in 1977. For 40 years, he was on the faculty in ECE at Bemidji State University and he is an Emeritus Professor. Gartrell has written articles for Exchange, The Sage Encyclopedia of ECE and Young Children. He is the author of six books including "A Guidance Guide for Early Childhood Leaders" (2020). Gartrell has presented over 300 keynotes and trainings in the U.S., Germany and Mexico.
