Claire Underwood is a Ph.D. student in education studies at the University of Cincinnati, where she serves as a graduate research assistant at the Arlitt Center for Education, Research, and Sustainability and editorial assistant for the Children, Youth and Environments Journal. With a master’s in environmental education from the University of Minnesota Duluth, Underwood’s research focuses on the role of nature-based learning in fostering empathy and sustainability in early childhood. A former nonprofit leader, she bridges research, teaching, and community engagement to support equitable, nature-centered learning experiences for children, families, and educators.
